Yesterday Ember did a photo shoot for the Yorkshire Evening Post to highlight help needed from dogwalkers to report suspected criminal activity in the local area.

Dana and Tess showed them how its done at the A.B.B. Championship trials. The weather was very hot and scenting wasnt good, but despite the odds Dana gained the only prize awarded and moves up into the intermediate stakes. There were no prizes awarded on intermediate day but Tess managed a well earned certificate of merit for her line under very difficult conditions. Thanks go out to Ian Sayles for his great handling on both days.

'APPARENTLY THE NEXT PARAGRAPH HAS CAUSED SOME CONTRAVERSY AMONGST A COUPLE OF BREEDERS, WHO SEEM TO IMAGINE I AM TALKING ABOUT THEM OR SOME FRIEND OF THEIRS. SADLY INSTEAD OF ASKING FOR CONFIRMATION, THEY HAVE JUST GONE AHEAD AND PUT A LOAD OF UNPLEASANT COMMENTS ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE OR BLOG ND ASSUMED THAT MY COMMENT IS DIRECTED AT THEM. IF THEY HAD BOTHERED TO ASK ABOUT WHOM I WAS REFERRING THEY WOULD HAVE REALISED ITS MOST UNLIKELY THE PERSON IM WRITING ABOUT IS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEM (UNLESS THEY HAVE SOME LOW LIFE PALS BREEDING FROM UNREGISTERED BLOODHOUNDS COURSE!)
I STILL MAINTAIN THAT JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN GO TO AN ADDRESS AND BUY A 12 WEEK OLD PUPPY WITHOUT BEING ASKED ANY QUESTIONS, IT IS NOT THE RIGHT WAY TO GO ABOUT IT'

I would like to point out I myself cannot contact Farlap bloodhounds to confirm anything

as my ISP has been blocked from communicating with Farlap since 31/03/ 2010.

Farlap has stated she wishes no communication with me so asking for confirmation would be quite difficult.

With regard to these postings I would like to say.
The breeder being called a novice although being
the first litter they have bred has thought very carefully
about this breeding. Before embarking on the mating
the breeder discussed and sought the advice of breeders
of both the stud dog, the bitch to be mated and ourselves.
Everyone consulted looked into the breeding and thought
it would be a good mating for both the health and conformation
of the Bloodhound.
As for the statement 'from nonregistered or health tested parents.'
I don't know where the non registered part comes from as both the
Sire and Dam are registered with the Kennel Club. There are no
recommended health tests in force for the bloodhound at the moment
so are not mandatory.
All this from a self proclaimed expert on the breed!!!
Healthy bloodhounds are known for producing large litters
the size of this litter I think speaks for itself, and all credit
goes to this 'novice' for managing to rear 14 bloodhounds a task
in itself even for a so called experienced breeder. Why someone
would want to make a posting like the one on the farlap site is
beyond me, people publicly attempting to discredit anyone
can only expect responses like the posting above.
People in glass houses springs to mind.

Tess has now moved up to the intermediate stakes, after gaining another second in the junior stake held at Lewknor in Oxfordshire. Ian handled her with his usual flair and agility.Thanks go to Ian for his time and effort spent with myself Tess and Dana (who unfortunately could not attend the trials due to having to tend her puppies). in helping to bring them up to this standard in such a short time.

Lara passed on today to a life of peace and happy hunting in the other life at the age of 11years and 9 months.

What a good day at the Bloodhound Club (Centenary) Ch. Show judged by American Judge Dr. Jim Edwards.
Tess came second to her sibling Cozie in Post Grad Bitch. Dana gained Best Working Bitch and Best red in Show. Countryman another of Tess's siblings gained first in Post Grad Dog and yet another sibling of Tess, Courtesy gained first place in Limit Bitch. Well done to the Kingshart kennel. Also well done to Jed (Aspencade Conqueror) and Rosie (Readyfields Rosie of Kingshart) for producing these hounds.

We have just returned from the A.B.B. Trials at Tibthorpe. A very successful two days for Dana and Tess.

Dana gained a Certificate of Merit in her first appearance in the Junior stake. Tess gained third place in the Novice stake.

Yesterday we attended The Bloodhound Club Spring trials

Where Dana and Tess were entered in the Novice stakes.

Competition was tough. Both Dana and Tess completed their lines very efficiently.

Dana gained 2nd place so she now moves up to the junior stakes.
